A great post over at cnet that cuts to the bone: Why Microsoft must abandon Vista to save itself
And please MS, for the next go around try to put your users first. Remember, they’re the ones (by the billions) who have use it. It’s almost a moral issue. As the industry standard, when you falter, the world suffers for it.
We’ll forgive you, just please come out with something better. And soon if you can. Windows XP is getting old you know.
Too right. I was one of the masses until 5 months ago, and the promise of Vista drove me to Xubuntu, and I never looked back. I am probably not average though, and the masses, will just get frustrated, and some will buy Macs. There is such an opportunity for a newcomer to either offer a smooth Linux distro, or better still, for Microsoft to offer an operating system disassociated from the apps. The notion of an operating system has been lost in all the flashing screens and video.

Having tried hard to run Vista for several months, I eventually gave up. It had so many holes and lacked drivers that it was a complete waste of time and money! I have dumped Vista and installed Linux! It’s great! I have control of my computer again, and not a blue screen of death, anywhere to be seen!
