		<description>Roaming users are a big cash cow for the carriers, esp Rogers as they have the GSM monopoly. Rogers typically charges 5cents/Kb or  50/MB for foreigners roaming on data in canada, and 50/MB for canadians roaming in the US or elsewhere (far far in excess of what the foreign carriers charge Rogers).

This is why a lot of canadian business users who travel a lot have close to $1000 /month blackberry bills (PER BLACKBERRY).

Talk about a gruesome tax on anyone trying to grow a global business in Canada.

Not good for Canada&#039;s long term prosperity.</description>

I find Canada’s postion a bit ironic given that we were a leader in wireless communication back in the 1950s when were built the cross country microwave network.</description>
